Daniel Goddard Can Never Forget This Scene with Billy Miller
Transcript
00:00 The pain is still raw for the soap world and this time Daniel Goddard is remembering the
00:04 late Billy Miller and is reflecting on the pain his mom is going through after losing her child.
00:08 Hey everyone, welcome to Trend Street.
00:12 Last month on September 17th, the late actor and Y&R alum, Billy Miller, passed away at the age
00:19 of 43. The Daytime Emmy Award winner died due to his years-long battle with bipolar depression,
00:24 and at last, according to his mom, the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life.
00:29 Losing such an adult son while there was a whole world still waiting for him is just unimaginable.
00:34 No one can relate to the pain she must be feeling and it's just heartbreaking to even think about.
00:39 And now after one month of his passing, Daniel Goddard, who used to play King Ashby on The Young
00:44 and the Restless, got all emotional and shared his feelings with his followers. On his Instagram,
00:49 Goddard talked about how he paid his respects to his buddy Billy and reminisced about their time
00:53 working together. Goddard also had a moment to think about what Billy Miller's mom must be going
00:58 through after losing her son. Visibly choked up about the loss, Goddard started his video message
01:03 by acknowledging that it had been exactly one month since Billy's passing. It was tough for
01:07 him to say it out loud and he explained that Billy was never into social media so the best way to pay
01:12 his respects was to not post anything for a month. As a parent himself, Goddard couldn't help but
01:17 think about what Billy's mom must be experiencing right now. He had a hard time looking at the
01:22 camera as he shared these thoughts. He went on to say that all parents care about is their child's
01:26 happiness. So today is one month since Billy. My way of showing respect was not to post for a month.
01:51 And I've been thinking a lot about his mom
01:57 and what his mom's going through now. I'm tired of looking at the camera.
02:03 As a parent,
02:10 all you care about is your child's happiness. All you care about is
02:19 your child's happiness. All you learn as you start to mature is that your kid's happy.
02:26 Goddard also reminisced about his first scene with Billy on The Young and The Restless
02:32 and how unforgettable it was. The scene took place in the Chancellor boardroom with Jess Walden
02:36 around and Kane found out he had a brother. Goddard talked about how he played the scene
02:40 and admitted that after working with Billy more, he realized he couldn't keep up.
02:45 And I couldn't keep up in the fact that he was just so there in the moment and free and just
02:57 there. You would start watching him and then as an actor you go, "Oh shit, this sucks." But when
03:08 you watch it back and then you see it filmed, you go, "Oh my God, it looks really good because it
03:12 looks like what's he's thinking." But you as an actor are going, "Oh crap, this guy's crushing me."
03:17 It's like a tennis match and Yokovitch is like 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, serving for the thing,
03:23 you've won no points and you go, "Can I just get off the court please?"
03:28 Goddard wrapped up his heartfelt message by expressing his hope that Billy is resting in
03:35 peace and made a hand over heart gesture for Miller's mom. The post received a lot of love
03:40 from fellow soap stars, with Tracy Bregman dropping some hearts, Ashley Jones from The Bold
03:44 and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless finding it beautiful, and Hudson West expressing
03:49 his shock and heartbreak over Billy's passing, who had played his TV dad for many years, and how
03:53 much he'll miss him. Our heart goes out to all suffering and let's send love for all of them
