00:22 Joining the cast for almost four decades, her character has gone through many relationships,

00:27 but one that stuck from the start and is together to this day is her true love Victor Newman.

00:32 Her on-screen story sticks also resembles her real-life story.

00:35 On October 12, 1985, Melody married Edward J. Scott, current producer of Bold and the

00:41 Beautiful as well as former producer of Young and Restless.

00:45 Their journey together is nothing short of a Hollywood fairy tale, and now she is celebrating

00:50 her 38th anniversary with her husband.

00:53 Before becoming Nicky Reed on Young and Restless, Melody Thomas Scott used to be Melody and

00:58 Thomas.

00:59 During her time on Y&R, she had a relationship with the show's makeup artist, which led to

01:03 a pregnancy that they even wrote into the show.

01:06 However, the romance didn't last, and they eventually parted ways.

01:10 It was at this point that she began a relationship with Edward J. Scott, Y&R's executive producer.

01:16 In her memoir, Always Young and Restless, My Life On and Off America's #1 Daytime Drama,

01:22 she describes their union as "perfect timing," just like in Rick Astley's hit song, "Together

01:27 Forever."

01:28 They tied the knot in 1985 and created a blended family, with children from their previous

01:33 relationships and one child together.

01:35 Their love story also made its way into the show, as her second pregnancy was also scripted

01:40 into the storyline.

01:42 Their children have ventured into the entertainment industry as well, with their daughter Jennifer

01:46 working as a director on Y&R's sister show, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Elizabeth

01:51 pursuing acting.

01:52 Meanwhile, Alexandra Daniel started a bridal line in honor of her late father, who was

01:57 a respected makeup artist.

01:59 The couple became grandparents when Jennifer had twins in 2011.

02:03 Melody and Edward now have five grandchildren.

02:06 According to Soap Opera Digest, her marriage with Edward was her third shot at marriage,

02:11 as the first two lasted for about just six months.

02:14 She believes this was meant for her.

02:16 "In my heart, this is my only marriage," she said.

02:19 In a 1995 interview with Soap Opera Digest, Melody Thomas-Scott shared her views on marriage.

02:25 "It is two people who love each other, obviously, and respect each other enough to both be caretakers

02:32 It's swallowing your pride about something if it makes your partner feel better.

02:36 But it can be hard sometimes, too."
