Sheffield Sharks' rookie R J Eytle-Rock talks to Nick Westby about life with his new team in British Basketball League

00:00 When we spoke in pre-season, you were excited obviously about a new start in Sheffield Sharks

00:11 and the British Basketball League. Have you found it so far?

00:13 Yeah, I've been finding it good. I mean, the team have welcomed me here, the fans are great.

00:19 I mean, just buying into what we're doing here and I'm enjoying it so far. I mean, it's

00:23 been a great start, got a great arena and we've got great momentum right now.

00:29 Have you exceeded your expectations in terms of game time, points? You had a fantastic

00:34 game against Plymouth, you poured a lot in against Newcastle. Have you exceeded what

00:38 you thought you'd be capable of in the early part of the season?

00:40 I mean, I'm always trying to be confident in myself and believe in my game. So, I feel

00:45 like if I do the right things, buy in every day and try and do what the coach says, I

00:49 feel like the right things will happen. I think that's just what's showing right now.

00:52 So, the work is showing, I've just got to stick to it and keep getting better day in, day out.

00:57 And the game against Newcastle in particular, scored a lot of three-pointers there. Were

01:01 you pleased with your performance in front of that big crowd?

01:03 Yes, definitely. I mean, that was an opening night as well. So, the atmosphere was jumping

01:08 in there. It was nice to hit some threes, of course, and then obviously get the win,

01:11 which is the most important thing.

01:14 Difficult weekend, this one, London Lions and then Caledonia on Sunday. How do you back

01:19 up for a game in such a short space of time?

01:22 I mean, just focus on the first game. You can't look too far ahead. So, right now we're

01:27 just focusing on the next game, which is London. Looking forward to that. Should be a good

01:30 one here at home. And then the next day, just recover and then head up to Scotland for the

01:35 game. So, it should be a good weekend and we're looking forward to it.

01:39 And they've got a lot of momentum at the minute, a nice bit of honour, a nice roll.

01:42 Yes, definitely. It feels nice to get two in a row, especially at home. So, we're confident

01:47 going into the game on Friday and look forward to seeing a great crowd and trying to put

01:51 on a show for you guys, of course.

01:52 Absolutely.
