Meghan Markle and Harry Are Trying To Reconnect With Royal Family

00:07 Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be trying to mend their relationship with

00:11 the British Royal Family.

00:13 And people think that they're just doing this in a very shady way.

00:24 Meghan and Harry are reportedly doing this by getting closer to King Charles' youngest

00:31 sibling, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie.

00:34 They're attempting to reconcile with Harry's distant family members and sort of weasel

00:38 themselves back into the family.

00:41 And this is according to entertainment commentator Mark Boardman.

00:45 And this is what Mark Boardman specifically said.

00:48 Meghan and Harry have reconnected with Sophie and Edward, and this renewed connection may

00:53 serve as a gateway back into the royal household.

01:05 However there was one unnamed insider who stated that the rumors about Meghan Markle

01:12 and Prince Harry reconnecting with Prince Edward and his wife Sophie are false.

01:18 And according to this source, there have been no discussions or interactions between them

01:23 whatsoever.

01:29 In any case though, Mark Boardman says that this is in fact true.

01:34 And he said in a new report that despite a significant age gap, both couples have endured

01:40 substantial public scrutiny over the years.

01:43 Mark Boardman also stated that Sophie has been a close confidant for Prince Harry, and

01:49 recent interactions between the two couples indicate their ongoing connection.

01:54 Harry and Meghan have become especially close to Prince Edward and his wife Sophie since

02:00 King Charles became king in September of 2022 after Queen Elizabeth II's passing.

02:09 And royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams mentioned that Harry and Meghan's friendship with

02:15 Edward is relatively recent.

02:18 In the past though, Queen Elizabeth had hoped that Sophie would assist Meghan Markle in

02:24 adopting to royal life, although a close relationship never really developed from there.

02:30 And Richard Fitzwilliams went on to add, "Neither were born royal.

02:36 Both, especially Meghan, have suffered from press harassment.

02:39 Both had ambitions to combine being royal with other activities after joining the royal

02:45 family and found it was not possible."

02:48 So you can kind of see why Meghan and Sophie could have a close connection, or maybe there

02:55 was hopes that a deeper connection was going to be formed because they have very similar

03:00 stories and experiences.

03:02 But in general, Harry and Meghan have been distant from King Charles, Prince William

03:08 and other members of the royal family since stepping back from their roles as senior working

03:13 royals in 2020, only two years after their wedding.

03:17 They moved to Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,

03:22 and have been openly critical of the royal family since then.

03:25 They notably did a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, and Harry released

03:31 his harsh memoir titled Spare in early 2023.

03:36 Before that, they even released a documentary detailing their issues with the royal family.

03:41 And later in 2023, Harry briefly visited the UK on the anniversary of his grandmother,

03:46 Queen Elizabeth II's passing, before heading to the Invictus Games in Germany.

03:54 And surprisingly, he didn't stop by Balmoral Castle to see his father, King Charles.

03:58 And this was despite being invited by King Charles.

04:01 And then after the Invictus Games, Harry and Meghan went on a secretive trip to Portugal

04:06 with Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

04:11 It's reported that Prince Harry is close with Princess Eugenie.

04:15 While King Charles is willing to reconcile, it does appear though that Prince William

04:20 and Princess Catherine aren't really open to connect with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

04:27 But we can see that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are trying to make connections with

04:35 royal members in some way, shape or form.

04:39 And this is looking like it could literally be a gateway for them to actually mend their

04:45 relationship with the royal family.

04:47 Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

04:50 But from the looks of it, they have their favourites within the royal family that they're

04:54 interested in connecting with.

04:56 And for the others, it doesn't seem like Meghan and Harry are interested.

05:01 But who knows, I could be wrong.

05:03 There could be some type of reconnection in the future.

05:07 I'm always hopeful, I'm always a little bit optimistic of things working out.

05:11 But from the looks of it right now, it doesn't seem like they're going to reconnect and

05:15 reconcile things with the entire royal family.

05:18 But that's just my two cents on it guys.
