00:04 A listed building in one of the busiest parts of Preston City Centre could be turned into

00:09 an adult gaming arcade. The venture would be housed in a former building society branch

00:15 on the corner of Loon Street and Fishergate if plans lodged with the Preston City Council

00:21 are given the go ahead. The prominent plot has been largely unoccupied

00:25 since February 2019 and Wigan-based Kings Gaming Centre, the firm behind the arcade

00:31 proposal argues that the business would help secure both the sustained use and maintenance

00:39 of the Grade 2 listed asset. An official opening date has been confirmed

00:44 for Blackpool's new Fraser's department store in Hounds Hill Shopping Centre.

00:49 The Fraser Group is currently refurbishing the former Debenhams store after agreeing

00:54 a deal with the council-owned shopping centre last November.

00:59 The retailer has confirmed that it will open its doors at 9am on Friday November 24th.

01:08 East Lancashire could benefit from an increased number of medical school places as the government

01:14 announces it will fund an additional 205 starting in 2024, accelerating a commitment in the

01:21 NHS long-term workforce plan published in June.

01:26 The Office for Students has now begun the process of allocating these additional places,

01:32 which includes the University of Central Lancashire and Edge Hill Medical Schools.

01:38 The location of these schools will help ensure medical school places are available where

01:45 they are most needed, including training much-needed additional doctors for the North West.

01:53 Residents have spoken of their anger after a young yob's pelted Wigan homes with eggs.

01:58 One of the addresses targeted in Shevington belongs to an 85-year-old woman living on

02:03 her own and is reported to have been terrified by the attack.

02:09 The attacks have taken place two evenings running, on Sunday and Monday October 8th

02:15 and 9th on Naylor Farm Avenue and The Oval and appear to involve several youngsters.

02:27 gave the go-ahead to the scheme.

02:30 The hybrid plans by Taylor Wimpey include 58 homes and public open space, as well as

02:37 an extra care facility and a local centre, all on land off Lancaster Road and next to

02:43 Turnpike Fold.

02:44 The site forms part of the North Lancaster Strategic Site, which is allocated for residential

02:51 development for up to 700 dwellings and 2 hectares of employment land.
