Trump Endorses Jim Jordan , for House Speaker.
The former president endorsed the
representative from Ohio on Oct. 6, CNN reports. .
He took to Truth Social to say that
Jordan "will be a GREAT Speaker of the House, & has my Complete & Total Endorsement!".
Republicans will hear from new speaker candidates during a forum on Oct. 10.
A vote is scheduled to take place on Oct. 11.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise
has also announced his candidacy.
Meanwhile, Trump has been approached about
serving as speaker, even if only temporary.
According to a source familiar with the situation, he's "intrigued" by the possibility.
While Trump is currently focusing on his presidential campaign, he previously said he'd be open to assuming the role for a "30-, 60-, or 90-day period.".
