House Republicans just voted on Tuesday to kill a set of Internet privacy regulations created by the Federal Communications Commission. The new legislative measure, which has not yet taken effect, allows Internet providers to access customer data without asking for users' consent. The overturn of the law also prohibits the FCC from seeking to restore any future privacy regulations. The resolution was reached in a 215 to 205 vote, with most Republicans in favor of the repeal and most Democrats against. President Trump is expected to sign the resolution.
