‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ Writers Refuse to Come Back

With the writer&#039;s strike finally over in Hollywood, film and TV shows are starting to reconvene to continue production. &#039;The Drew Barrymore Show&#039; is no exception, however they are currently facing a problem: the writers don&#039;t want to return.

00:00 The Writers Guild of America strike is over and the Drew Barrymore show is set to return on October 16th

00:05 But three of the show's WGA writers have decided that they won't be coming back according to The Hollywood Reporter

00:12 Those writers are Chelsea White, Christina Kainon and Liz Coe

00:16 The three women were all co-head writers and have been with the show since the first season

00:21 Last month Barrymore came under fire when she said that her show would be resuming without its WGA writers

00:29 At the time Kainon said it is a bummer to hear that the show is going back because it sends a message that union writers

00:35 are not valuable.

00:37 "I understand that everybody has to do what they feel is best for them

00:40 For me and the WGA writers on the show, it's important for us to stick with our union

00:46 We deserve a fair contract. So we are here today outside,"

00:49 Christina Kainon told The Hollywood Reporter

00:52 When asked if they'd return to the Drew Barrymore show once the strike was over, White replied

00:57 "Maybe no comment."

00:59 The backlash Barrymore received prompted her to reverse course and pause production until the strike was over
