Typhoon 'Koinu' hits southern Taiwan, injures 190 residents, no deaths


Typhoon Koinu hit southern Taiwan, injuring 190 people but no deaths. It brought strong winds and rain, forcing schools and offices to close. The typhoon, which means ‘puppy’ in Japanese, made landfall in southern Taiwan and is expected to weaken as it moves toward southern China.
