2011 Los Angeles: 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible

Editor-in-Chief Edward Loh gives us a look at the 2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible.

00:08 So the talk of this LA show has been Ford's all new GT500 Mustang, but

00:12 you can't discount the bowtie boys.

00:14 Behind me is the Camaro ZL1 convertible, and it's pretty sweet.

00:19 As with the hardtop Camaro ZL1,

00:21 Chevy's ported over a whole mess of performance modifications.

00:25 There still is the 580 horsepower, 6.2 liter supercharged and

00:29 intercooled V8 engine.

00:31 ZL1 upgrades include Brembo brakes all around, magnetic ride dampeners,

00:36 upgraded suspension geometry, and fancy chassis electronics,

00:40 including performance traction management and our favorite, launch control.

00:43 The big question is though,

00:46 will losing the top affect structural rigidity and how the vehicle handles?

00:51 We don't know right now, but we will soon find out.

00:54 In the next couple of weeks, we'll be driving the hardtop ZL1 Camaro, and

00:57 soon after, the convertible.
