Tesla's Cybertruck electric pickup truck launch has been anticipated and delayed yet again as the end of September passed with little news about Tesla's much-delayed Cybertruck. Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously suggested the Cybertruck would begin deliveries in the third quarter of 2022 but that deadline was missed. Customers who have pre-ordered the Cybertruck are still waiting for deliveries to begin. Analysts believe the Cybertruck threatens traditional automakers in the growing electric pickup truck segment if Tesla can deliver on their design and promised specifications. However, Tesla has faced multiple production challenges and delays in getting other new vehicles from prototype to mass production over the years.
