00:00 I've wanted to deal with the Odyssey for a long time.

00:05 As a child, I found the story of the Invisible Man to be very interesting.

00:11 The combination of truth and mythical situation,

00:16 connected with gods and monsters,

00:19 seemed to me to be very torturing and inspiring for the theatre.

00:26 This is one of the inspirations.

00:30 The other was the war in Ukraine, which obviously introduced the war into our world,

00:38 and also into the world of our children.

00:40 Our children also started to meet at playgrounds, schools, etc.

00:45 with children from Ukraine, and play with them, support them, etc.

00:50 and try to understand what this war is about, why they ended up here, etc.

00:54 This is the second leg of our Odyssey.

00:58 We will be moving somewhere between the very painful truth and the mythical world of ancient Greece.

01:04 In the next season, which is ahead of us, we are planning three titles.

01:10 The Odyssey, which premieres on Saturday.

01:14 And then two more. One for the small stage and one for the big stage.

01:19 The small stage will feature the play by Misha Ček, played by Marta Gušňovská.

01:25 And the last premiere will be the opening of the seventh edition of our review of the New Theatre for Children.

01:38 written by Maria Vojtyshko, my director.

01:41 And it will be a classic fairy tale, with a dragon, a prince, a princess, a king,

01:48 a bit of a crazy story, with live songs, a large set design, a large production.
