00:00 Zelensky put forward two demands to Russia in the UN Security Council.
00:05 President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting of the UN Security Council put forward two demands to Russia for
00:14 the cessation of hostilities. He once again demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from the
00:22 territories within Ukraine in 1991 and to return to Kiev control over the exclusive economic zone
00:30 in the Black and Azov seas, as well as in the Kerch Strait.
00:34 "Only the fulfillment of these two points will result in the cessation of hostilities," he said.
00:42 Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking later at the UN Security Council,
00:49 in response to calls to return Ukraine to the borders of 1991,
00:55 asked if Western politicians who make such proposals are familiar with the
01:00 statements of the Kiev leadership about what exactly they are going to do with the inhabitants of
01:06 their former territories. Threats of extermination were repeatedly made against them at the
01:13 official level, Lavrov recalled. The Foreign Minister also noted that Russia does not refuse to
01:21 negotiate on Ukraine, and if the United States would like, they could command Kiev to cancel the
01:28 decree-banning dialogue with Moscow. Russia has repeatedly expressed its readiness for
01:35 negotiations, but the Kiev authorities have imposed a ban on them at the legislative level.
01:42 The Kremlin also noted that now there are no prerequisites for the transition of the situation to a
01:49 peaceful course, while achieving the goals of the special operation remains an absolute priority
01:56 for Moscow. According to Vladimir Putin, Russia has never refused dialogue, but the other side
02:04 should say so directly.
