Wilko closes in Stamford for the final time

Rutland and Stamford Sound presenter Rob Persani led a round of applause for Wilko staff as the store closed for the final time.

00:07 in July 1983. I thought it was really quite nice for us to be able to mark

00:14 this occasion because this shop's been a huge part of Stanford High Street, you

00:20 think of the way it's changed over the years and Wilco's been here the whole

00:24 time and at 5.30 tonight it stopped trading in Stanford for the last time

00:31 and I just thought it'd be great to get people together in Stanford to actually

00:39 mark that to say thank you to all those who've worked past and present Wilco and

00:47 give them a round of applause here today so if you'd like to join me in that

00:51 really appreciate it and thank you Wilco.
