ABC adds 10 more “Monday Night Football” games amid ongoing writers strike

00:27 Wall Street is pricing in a 99% chance that the central bank holds rates steady.

00:32 The Fed has raised rates 11 times since March of 2022 in an attempt to bring historically

00:38 high inflation down to the targeted 2%.

00:42 And if just one Monday night football game isn't enough for you, you're about to be pleasantly

00:47 surprised.

00:48 ABC has announced it will be adding 10 more games to the Monday night football slate.

00:52 The Disney-owned network added the games due to the ongoing writer strikes that have plagued

00:56 Hollywood.

00:58 Without new episodes of ABC staples like Grey's Anatomy and The Rookie, the network had to

01:03 shift its regular broadcast schedule, leaving holes to fill in on Monday nights.

01:07 ABC was originally slated to air 8 games, with that number now rising to 18.

01:13 And despite the network not being able to air any scripted shows, it's bound to get

01:17 a ratings bump.

01:18 NFL games are some of the most regularly watched shows on TV, with Monday night football having

01:24 the third highest viewership on television during the 2022-2023 season.

01:29 NBC's Sunday Night Football had the highest viewership.

01:32 The new schedule starts tonight, with the New Orleans Saints facing the Carolina Panthers

01:37 on ESPN and the Cleveland Browns taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers on ABC.
