00:02 - It's the Battle of Colorado.
00:04 Take a look at this quote from Jay Norvell.
00:06 "When I talk to grownups,
00:08 I take my hat and my glasses off.
00:11 That's what my mother taught me."
00:12 Oh no, you didn't say that about Deion Sanders.
00:15 Before we get to the game,
00:17 why are people picking on the Buffaloes
00:19 and picking this fight week to week now, it seems, Ben?
00:23 - DRS, for whatever reason,
00:25 everybody seems to have a personal vendetta
00:28 against Deion Sanders
00:29 and the way that Prime runs his football program.
00:32 Because Donnie, oftentimes human beings
00:35 don't do well with change or new,
00:37 and Deion Sanders is flipping the system on its head,
00:41 getting everybody out,
00:42 running it like a professional organization.
00:44 69 scholarship newcomers this year for the Buffs,
00:48 and that irked some people.
00:50 And now that results are following immediately,
00:54 some are not all that happy.
00:56 But here's the interesting thing about what Jay Norvell said,
00:58 the head coach of Colorado State,
01:00 about Deion Sanders, of course, the head coach at Colorado.
01:04 Deion has always been Deion.
01:06 It might be new at the Power Five or FBS level.
01:09 It might be new in the grand scheme of college football,
01:13 but do we forget who Deion Sanders is?
01:15 A man that sat there on his draft night
01:17 in the National Football League and said,
01:19 "Look good, feel good, play good,"
01:21 as he had more ice on his neck
01:23 than maybe even left in the Alps.
01:26 DRS, that is what Deion Sanders is.
01:29 He is cut from a similar cloth in terms of motivation
01:33 like the best of them in college football.
01:35 You know why Alabama always is supremely motivated?
01:38 It's because Nick Saban takes rat poison from the media
01:42 and makes it fuel to the fire.
01:44 DRS, there is not one individual on planet Earth,
01:47 even if you had not seen a single snap of college football
01:50 that would look at the Georgia Bulldogs last year
01:53 and predict them to go 5-7 or 6-6,
01:56 but somehow, someway, going a perfect 15-0
01:59 and capping it off with their second consecutive
02:01 national championship, the Dogs believe they were picked
02:04 to be an even 500 team.
02:07 That's what Kirby Smart does for his program.
02:10 That's what Deion Sanders is doing here for Colorado,
02:14 using motivation as the ultimate tool
02:18 and making things personal.
02:20 So not that they are going to go out and win a football game,
02:23 but feel their honor has been disrespected
02:26 and blow out teams.
02:28 It's what they did last week against Nebraska
02:31 because Shador Sanders felt that Matt Rule,
02:33 the head coach of the Huskers,
02:35 was talking bad on his dad, Deion Sanders.
02:39 And he brought that prayer circle
02:40 in the moment of reflection to Ralphie,
02:43 the Buffs logo there on the center of the field
02:46 last Saturday, and Shador Sanders said,
02:48 "Enough of that. I'm going to have my pregame warmups
02:50 right there."
02:51 They are making things personal, DRS, justified or not,
02:54 and I think we see that represented
02:56 in how the game flow looks on Saturday.
02:59 23-and-a-half for the first rendition
03:02 of the Rocky Mountain Showdown since 2019,
03:05 the 92nd all-time meeting between the Rams and the Buffaloes.
03:09 And Donnie, keep an eye on what that team total
03:12 looks like for Colorado.
03:14 It is 41-and-a-half.
03:16 Colorado State had a bye last week
03:18 after their season opener against another ranked
03:20 Pac-12 team, that being Washington State.
03:23 Now, the Cougs put up 50 points.
03:25 Cam Ward, the quarterback for Wazoo,
03:27 threw for 450 yards and a couple of touchdowns,
03:31 I believe four or five.
03:33 Shador Sanders, his passing yards prop is 33,
03:36 338-and-a-half, excuse me.
03:39 He is going to go over that number in my estimation.
03:42 He has gone over in both games so far,
03:44 393 against the Cornhuskers,
03:46 510 in the opener against TCU.
03:48 And Xavier Weaver, the transfer from South Florida,
03:51 has become his favorite target.
03:53 Not Travis Hunter, not Jimmy Horn Jr., Xavier Weaver.
03:57 His receiving yards prop, 83-and-a-half.
03:59 He had a buck 70 last week against Nebraska.
04:02 He's going over that number as well.
04:04 What I'm saying, DRS, now that it's personal,
04:07 there's no longer a look-ahead spot for Colorado.
04:10 Next week, on the road in Eugene in Austin against Oregon.
04:14 This one is personal, and I think Colorado runs it up
04:17 on Saturday night in Boulder.
