00:04 A Staveley Town Councillor has raised concerns about plans for a new commercial centre because

00:08 he fears it could cut trade for the town's weekly market.

00:12 The proposed pavilion building has been earmarked by Chesterfield Borough Council to be built

00:16 near the marketplace as part of the Market Square refurbishment plan, which is included

00:20 in the government-funded Staveley Town deal.

00:23 But Staveley Town Councillor Paul Mann says he will object until Chesterfield Borough

00:27 Council can guarantee compensation for the town, adding that it will "put the final

00:31 nail into the market".

00:33 The pavilion building is part of the multi-million pound package of planned improvements for

00:37 Staveley called Staveley 21, which are paid for through the government-funded Staveley

00:41 Town deal and overseen by Chesterfield Borough Council and the Staveley Town Board.

00:46 Staveley 21 hopes the pavilion project building will actually draw people into the Market

00:50 Square and the Councillor stated it will provide more commercial space for businesses.

00:56 Councillor Kate Sarvant, who is Chesterfield Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Town

00:59 Centres and the Visitor Economy, said the new pavilion building is just one element

01:03 of the project and as currently designed the building will not impact on the footprint

01:07 of the marketplace.

01:09 She added "ultimately our aim is to increase footfall into Staveley Town Centre, which

01:13 can only be good news for retailers and businesses that currently occupy space within the marketplace

01:18 and Staveley High Street".

01:21 A Derbyshire school has undergone a transformation after being rated inadequate in 2013 to being

01:28 rated as an outstanding school after its latest inspection.

01:32 Heiner Gate Spencer Academy was rated outstanding for the first time in Education Watdog Ofsted's

01:37 latest report.

01:39 Principal Matt Jones said "As the principal of Heiner Gate Spencer Academy, I am incredibly

01:50 It is the pinnacle of a seven-year journey of school improvement, which has seen the
