00:00 Did you notice the increase in the love of purchases and services?

00:05 According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the inflation or love of purchases and services of August

00:12 increased from 5.3% to 4.7% in July.

00:19 This cut the 6-month downward trend of inflation.

00:26 According to the PSA, the increase in inflation was due to the higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages

00:34 including rice, vegetables, tomatoes, and fish.

00:38 The transport sector was also affected.

00:41 If you can remember, the price hike was followed by the 5th of August.

00:46 We compared it to the GMA Integrated News Research

00:50 and it was 9 pesos and 90 cents higher than the price hike in diesel.

00:56 That's the use of the public transport sector.

01:00 And 5 pesos and 90 cents higher than the price hike in gasoline.

01:03 According to the National Economic and Development Authority,

01:07 the government is encouraging the government to work on food security and help farmers.
