Illegal Traffic Stops - June 28, 2023

On June 28th, 2023, Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office deputy Zeb Tucker "accidentally" misread two different license plates and illegally stopped two different motorists.
In the first stop, he misread the "O" as a "Q" and it didn't come back to anything. Incidentally, this was the exact same "mistake" he made when he illegally stopped the exact same vehicle on December 1st, 2022.
In the second stop, he misread "996" as "966" and it came back to a completely different vehicle. He stopped the vehicle, searched it, and arrested the driver for an unspecified reason. This stop, search, and arrest was wholly illegal from start to finish because he didn't have valid legal grounds to stop the vehicle in the first place.
In both of these stops, he used the same tactic that Frisco, Texas PD used with viral results in July 2023, the tactic of accidentally-on-purpose misreading a plate because they wanted to stop the vehicle but didn't have legal grounds to do so.
