00:28 tough Aljaz Vento. Baron like I say comes into this fight, six wins, only one defeat.

00:37 What catches the eye is the five stoppages on the record. Like I say he was 165 pounds

00:47 on the scales yesterday and you can see he looks in good shape, positive start on the

00:51 front foot Barry. Yeah it is, but it's important for Bowen just to keep those elbows tucked

00:56 nice and tight, the hands up when you've got someone like Baron who's a loose puncher and

01:00 obviously he carries a bit of power, just to stay safe. Even when you throw a shot make

01:03 sure you're all, your elbows tucked nice and tight, you're nice and neat, so if any straight

01:10 punches you can block them quite effectively and just work way beyond the jab into the

01:14 fight. They're looking composed isn't he? Bowen on the back foot, Baron equally as composed

01:23 just creeping forward, you can see the concentration on the face of the Colombian. Nice little

01:29 shot up a cut there from Bowen. Just measuring the distance with that lead hand, Bowen looking

01:41 for that one-two, taken nicely on the guard from Baron. Like you say Barry's a loose puncher,

01:49 Baron doesn't mind taking one to land his shot. But with that there's a gap down the

01:54 middle. Yeah there is. That's what Bowen's got, like he's doing right now actually, just

01:57 keeping it nice and simple, nice long straight shots. And that's what he's very good at,

02:01 I've actually sparred Aaron when he was on Team GB and yeah he's very good with the straight

02:06 shots. I'd like to see him touch a jab a little bit more, you know try to nullify Baron a

02:11 little bit, stop him coming forward so much, but it's only the first round. Yeah and I

02:17 think just you know he's just trying to time in there, when he comes forward he takes a

02:21 little step back there, like you see there Bowen and just throws a nice little one-two

02:26 down the line. Like I say, oh left hook, just leaning back on the ropes there Bowen, just

02:32 taking a shot, he took the sting out of the left hook but something that the Colombian

02:37 Baron can build off, build off of. Like I say Baron, bit of an unknown quantity coming

02:44 into this fight, did travel to Glasgow last time, losing the fight. That's what I'm talking

02:50 about. Yeah that's better, looking for the right hand over the jab of Bowen. See this

02:56 lean back thing, everybody does it now and if when it works you make someone miss by

03:00 an inch, looks great and you can fire back with the shot, but with that it takes the

03:05 glove away from your chin automatically. And also the balance is not great, if you take

03:09 a little step back or learn to slip inside shots, you can keep your gloves up high there

03:14 doing that, let the punches come over your head. It takes a while to master, once you

03:19 get that right, means you can fire off the movement.

03:22 Yeah I must say positive start there from Baron on the front foot, creeping forward

03:30 looking for big shots, he did land a left hook. Seeing the composure from Bowen poking

03:37 out the jab. Yeah there was a few straight shots that got through from Baron, but all

03:43 in all I think, certainly earlier in the round, I think Bowen could control it quite comfortably

03:48 with the long straight shots. What he's got to do is not allow Baron to get comfortable.

03:53 And like he did there, he maybe put a little bit more weight in the jab or make him feel

03:58 a little bit of something or change the tempo now and again. Baron then by the end of the

04:02 round got a little more comfortable, a little more used to the rhythm and then was able

04:06 to mould an attack. We've referenced it a couple of times Shev in the first two fights,

04:11 the importance of a feint, you think that would work well for Bowen in this fight? Yeah

04:15 I think it would and also just you know, plant your feet a little bit, bang bang, you know

04:20 two, a straight one two, stop him coming forward at will. We're into the second round and Bowen

04:28 looking to hold the center of the ring and trade with Baron. They've told Baron in the

04:33 corner already, is he hurting you? And he said no, he said well just throw with him

04:37 then. That's what he said in the corner. Trading blows, sorry Shev. Both planting the feet

04:43 and letting big shots go, the start of this second round. And that's fine for Bowen, he

04:48 will find a gap there but he has to move his feet after he throws the punches and not in

04:52 a straight line back, around in that semi circle around the body. That was nice, jab

05:01 upstairs, drop the right to the body, then looking for the left to the body and he's

05:04 drawn, he's gone down, he hits him as he's down. While he's on the floor. Well he was

05:10 down on one knee and Bowen throws another shot. There hasn't been no appeals from the

05:18 Colombian, it was a lovely shot to the body, I think it was a left to the body under the

05:23 right rib cage of Baron. Well that changed quick. Out of nowhere. It was a great body

05:30 shot but I tell you something there, Bowen's got a wee bit of a run there. Yep. And the

05:34 way Baron jumped on the floor, I thought he's jumping on the floor but when he hit them

05:38 on the floor there with the right hook, I thought he's jumping on the floor there and

05:41 trying to get him disqualified. He's not complained, which is surprising. I thought exactly the

05:45 same Barry, when he took that shot the way he sort of rolled round on the floor, as if

05:51 he was going to milk it a little bit. It was a lovely body shot, it was shades of Mateo

05:56 Gomez in his day. But let's have a look at the shot again. The elbow's a little bit high

05:59 here, you can see now with Bowen he just dips down to the left, it's a lovely bit of a body

06:03 shot and this is unnecessary, no need for that. He skims him with the shot, but there's

06:09 no need to throw it, that could have got him disqualified. A little bit of loose knee of

06:14 your head, a little bit of lost composure there, could have cost him the fight there.

06:18 But up until that point it's a fantastic body shot, beautifully delivered. I have to say,

06:24 I'm not sure if he really crouched down, but did his hands touch the canvas? That is the

06:31 question, you see he dips down now, I can't see that right hand if he does touch. No,

06:36 but the knees on the floor. It was the knee on the floor. I'm pretty sure the knee's on

06:40 the floor. You may see it, look, it was a lovely left to the body, it was a beautiful

06:49 shot, like I say shades of Gomez in the first fight. It's right inside the elbow as well.

06:55 You'll see it now, the elbow, there's a little gap between the arms there and he just sees

06:59 it. We mentioned about the gap between the arms to me earlier on. That's a lovely shot

07:03 there, right in the soles of his plexus. There's the left to the body, let's see now, he dips

07:07 down, the knee comes down. He's lucky he only kept him, but the way he's jumped on the floor,

07:14 I thought he was playing a fastball, but actually I think he was crippled by that body shot.

07:17 He was in pain. Yeah, it was a beautiful shot, it really was. You can see Aaron Bowen just

08:14 was completely gone in. It was a fantastic body shot, it really was. Like I say, very

08:19 similar to his debut performance. The nice left to the body really finds the range with

08:26 that and the target we're going to hear from him.
