Young opener Devdutt Padikkal struck a magnificent 101 not out as Royal Challengers Bangalore romped to a 10-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai on Thursday (April 22). Padikkal made a good recovery from COVID and was in good form with skipper Virat Kohli as RCB won their fourth straight match in IPL 2021. Padikkal's fifty came off 27 balls and he was all power and grace as Kohli ensured the left-hander got to a rare century in T20 cricket. (Video and photos: BCCI)

00:03 You are in command level form right from the last IP
00:15 edition and [INAUDIBLE]
00:17 So what other things that you are doing differently
00:21 or special to be in the right zone or to be in the right shape?
00:24 And about today's NOC, how important it is and crucial
00:29 it is to come out of the COVID and then
00:31 concentrate on your batting?
00:32 To be honest, I've only looked to keep things simple
00:35 throughout ever since the last two seasons.
00:37 And I've not tried to do anything different or special.
00:40 I've just tried to stick to my processes every game
00:43 and try to stay as consistent as possible.
00:45 And thankfully, I've been able to do that.
00:48 And coming out of COVID definitely was a big challenge.
00:51 And I was really glad that I could contribute to the team
00:54 from the second game.
00:55 So as long as I'm contributing and the team is winning,
00:58 that's all that matters to me.
01:00 So last season, there was a bit of talk
01:02 around your strike rate in the middle overs,
01:04 especially against spinners.
01:05 So have you worked on that specifically
01:07 during the domestic season and coming into this IPL?
01:10 Because today, you were simply brilliant against them.
01:14 To be honest, it's about the situation of the game.
01:16 And I always have a particular role that I have to play.
01:19 And I look to do that as well as possible.
01:22 Sometimes, yes, it can get challenging in the middle overs.
01:26 As everyone knows, it's not easy to hit the boundaries
01:29 all the time.
01:29 So today, it was a really good wicket.
01:31 And we were having a good partnership together
01:36 when we were complementing each other well.
01:37 So in that situation, it's easier
01:39 to hit those boundaries because we are always rotating strike.
01:42 And that's why it just clicked today.
