Gujarat Titans lost their final round-robin league match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mumbai on Thursday but stayed on top of the IPL 2022 league table with 20 points from 14 matches. GT skipper Hardik Pandya said his team had several match-winners and the top of the table finish allowed 'bad' days at office. RCB stayed in hunt for a spot in the IPL playoffs. 00:03 Adit, first season for the team and table toppers.
00:21 How satisfied are you with Gujarat's performance
00:24 in the league stage?
00:26 To be honest, absolutely thrilled.
00:28 Looking at the season, when we started,
00:31 this team was all about showing character.
00:33 It was all about making players feel they are at home.
00:37 And I think that has allowed the players
00:39 to express in their best ability and own moments.
00:43 There were so many times, every different time,
00:46 someone has raised their hands and said that, don't worry,
00:48 guys, I've got you guys.
00:50 So in that hindsight, the kind of team environment we have
00:54 and playing our first season, very happy.
00:57 And can't be more proud of the boys.
01:00 Table toppers, that is the biggest positive
01:02 I think we can take.
01:05 The kind of season we had, it was always important
01:07 to finish in top two because it kind of gives you,
01:09 allows you to even have one bad day
01:11 and give yourself a second opportunity
01:13 if you are having a bad day.
01:15 So for us, satisfaction-wise, table topper
01:21 was something which obviously we were looking at.
01:23 And the kind of season we had, it was fantastic.
