Elon Musk Weighs in on X's Compensation Model
  • 9 months ago
Elon Musk recently responded to the situation of an influencer named Dom Lucre who was accused of sharing inappropriate content on X (formerly Twitter) and subsequently faced issues with his ad revenue payout. Lucre, a conspiracy theorist and QAnon follower was suspended and then reinstated on the platform, which created a stir in the online community. Ad revenue sharing on X allows paid users to earn money by displaying ads in replies to their posts. Despite having many impressions and followers, Lucre expressed dissatisfaction with his ad revenue payout compared to accounts with fewer impressions and followers. Elon Musk, who owns X, responded to Lucre's concerns by explaining that ad revenue sharing depends on advertisers' interest in associating their ads with an influencer's content. Musk clarified that the platform cannot force advertisers to engage with specific content.
