00:00 Your Excellencies, President Albi, Democratic Republic of Brazil, heads of state of the
00:14 countries who integrate the Hamas treaty, firstly, I would like to say to President Lula, thank
00:28 you very much for having me here and being able to share my thoughts and concerns.
00:40 Also for the hospitality and the warm welcome that we received.
00:52 It's an honor for me to be able to participate in this summit, to be able to share my thoughts
01:07 and concerns with Brazil and the rest of the countries who integrate this organization.
01:26 I'm very grateful to be able to participate in here and see the projects of different
01:32 organizations who are working to find a solution for the problem we are addressing here.
01:42 This initially was only a very attractive idea.
01:51 But over the years, it became a global initiative of great importance, which we can collaborate
02:09 on, taking into account the attendance of different countries for the summit.
02:22 To be together and discuss the important matter of the well-being of the Hamas-Hamas area
02:29 and the surrounding countries.
02:42 We are gathered here today, as we have done other times, to be able to set a strategy
02:50 to protect and preserve the natural biodiversity of the Hamas-Hamas region.
03:07 The summit gave us the opportunity to unite our forces, to be able to think and join our
03:15 ideas to be able to find a solution for the ecological crisis.
03:27 The effects of the climate change can be translated as an ecological pandemic, which we need to
03:36 address as soon as possible.
03:44 In order to solve this crisis, we need to stop talking and discussing about what we
03:50 need to do and to take concrete actions against the problem, the crisis we are having.
04:08 The forests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo come with a very diverse flora and
04:14 fauna, which can relate to the one that these countries have in the Amazonian region.
04:34 The forest area in the Democratic Republic of the Congo represents about 10% of the country
04:47 and 38% of the forest area in Africa.
05:10 In this forest area, we have several species of plants and animals, which we need to protect
05:19 and we need to fight for its well-being.
05:25 In order to do that, we need the collaboration of all countries, taking into account that
05:34 most countries that directly affect the green area of the world are industrialized countries.
05:54 We need to set different strategies of production of toxic gases.
06:00 We need to stop the emission of toxic gases to the atmosphere or at least reduce it.
06:09 We need as well to establish alliances between the countries, which is paramount in the fight
06:25 against climate change.
06:40 In previous meetings regarding this topic, we have addressed several times this problem
06:45 and this topic, and we have come to a conclusion that all countries, including the Democratic
06:58 Republic of the Congo, we are seeing that the effects of climate change
07:15 are very harmful both for African countries as well as the rest of the world.
07:22 This crisis has been aggravating over the years, and that's why we need to take action
07:27 immediately.
07:36 We are trying to find the proper financial support to be able to reduce our toxic gases
07:44 and other substances that are harmful to the environment.
07:58 By doing this, we will grow economically and we can adopt new strategies, different strategies,
08:06 to be able to grow economically and both take care of the environment.
08:12 In order to do this, we are working on green technologies, and we are working on having
08:24 clean cities, which means not only to keep clean our cities, but also to have clean technologies.
08:37 This area has very important minerals, which are very important for developing these kind
08:46 of technologies.
08:57 Ladies and gentlemen, once again, I express my gratitude for this meeting, gathering here
09:05 heads of states of different parts of the world, countries that are home of one of the
09:13 biggest green areas, the biggest green area in the world.
09:21 This kind of summit should be a permanent kind of meeting, especially because we need
09:26 to keep addressing this topic and we need to share thoughts and concerns and ideas to
09:32 be able to set new strategies for taking care of the environment.
