00:00 Well, the decision to expand the U.S. was a difficult one,
00:03 but it's the right one.
00:04 I'm not willing to delay, water down, or step back
00:08 from our health and green policies that will save lives,
00:13 protect children's lungs, and tackle the climate emergencies.
00:16 But I've continued to listen.
00:19 When we first announced the scheme in January,
00:21 we were targeting support to the lowest-income families,
00:24 to the smallest businesses, and to charities.
00:26 In June, I expanded the support to every single family in London
00:31 receiving child benefits.
00:33 We still have £60 million left in the scrappage fund.
00:36 I've announced a further £50 million today
00:39 so every single Londoner who is driving an unemployed vehicle
00:42 will receive support, and our businesses
00:44 will receive even greater support.
00:46 And what we saw in 2016 and 2021,
00:49 when I stood to be the mayor, and stood again to be the mayor,
00:52 I stood on a platform of the greenest policies
00:55 that any mayor's ever had, and lo and behold,
00:57 great results in 2016 and 2021.
01:00 It's using that power when you win elections
01:02 to bring about change.
01:03 I can't think of anything more important than saving lives,
01:05 protecting children's lungs,
01:06 and tackling the climate emergency.
