However, on Monday, workers were seen dismantling the sign after receiving numerous complaints from neighbors and city officials. The complaints stated that the sign was put up without a permit, posed safety risks, and caused disturbances with its flashing lights. San Francisco's Department of Building Inspections received 24 complaints, and the property owner will be assessed fees for the unpermitted installation and removal of the sign. Last week, Musk changed the company's name from "Twitter" to "X," which experts believe could erase years of brand awareness.
