A man who abducted and water boarded a woman before stabbing her in the Parkhead area has been sentenced to three years in jail.

30-year-old Christopher Hanratty attacked the victim in her property during September last year.

He pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court on 31 July.

Next, the CEO of AG Barr, the company behind Irn Bru, is stepping down from his position after more than 20 years.

Rodger White will be leaving his role within the next 12 months and will retire from the organisation.

He was the first chief executive to come from outside the Barr family.

And in other news, a molecular radiotherapy suite which opened at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow has been hailed a game changer for treating younger cancer patients.

This comes as NHS figures reveal the service has treated more children in 12 months than was predicted in five years.
