00:03 So with that, pre-season is over.

00:06 Sheffield Wednesday now turn their attention to Southampton on Friday night.

00:10 It was a 2-1 defeat to Luton Town this afternoon and, to be honest,

00:14 for the most part, Wednesday held their own.

00:16 I thought it was a really solid performance, especially in the first half.

00:19 We got a first look at Juan Delgado, who looked really, really bright,

00:22 playing a little bit further up than I think a lot of people expected him to.

00:25 He was signed as a, you know, played right back,

00:28 he's played right wing back for his club and his country before this,

00:31 but he came in today and played as a right winger.

00:34 Yeah, some really, really bright sparks from him.

00:36 Probably, you know, maybe should have scored.

00:39 Lovely ball over the top from Michael Smith towards the end of the first half

00:42 and he got on the end of it, but, you know, his first touch was a little bit heavy.

00:47 Saw Ashley Fletcher for the first time as well.

00:49 He came on for the last 20 minutes or so.

00:51 So two, obviously not competitive debuts, but two first looks at them.

00:56 And, yeah, just a very solid run out, about 4,000 or 5,000 people here today.

01:01 So a slight change from the last time we were at Illesborough

01:04 for that Peterborough game a few months back.

01:07 But, yeah, like I said, just a very sort of solid performance.

01:11 It was probably the best performance that Wednesday have put in over pre-season.

01:14 It was the first time that it felt like a real game of football.

01:18 There was a lot of changes towards the end.

01:20 I think there was eight changes made by the time the final whistle had gone,

01:23 but the first half, there was only one change made at half-time.

01:27 It did feel like they were really going for it in that sense.

01:32 A good bit of intensity as well.

01:34 Moving on now to Southampton.

01:36 I did speak about Lee Gregory and Rhys James, who are obviously missing from the squad today.

01:42 Chisco said it's nothing really to worry about.

01:44 They basically just don't want to take any risks with anybody.

01:46 Paul Valentin, no sign of him today either.

01:49 He basically, he's been travelling all over the place.

01:52 He was at pre-season in Mexico, then he flew back from Mexico to Spain,

01:55 flew from Spain to here, and then he had to get from Manchester Airport to Sheffield as well.

01:59 So, it's been a bit of a whirlwind ride for him.

02:02 Chisco said that if he was being selfish, he possibly could have given him a run out,

02:06 but he didn't want to risk breaking him.

02:08 We did see Liam Palmer back today, we saw Matty Wilkes back today.

02:11 Two really big positives for Wednesday as well.

02:13 So, all in all, a good day out for Wednesday.

02:16 Moving on to Southampton now.
