00:05 for Sheffield Wednesday, the third point of the season against a familiar face in the

00:09 opposition dugout and Huddersfield Town. Joe, it wasn't thrilling, but it's another point

00:17 and some really interesting things to pick up, despite the fact it was a pretty sleepy

00:22 goalless draw. Yeah, I think the narratives and stuff was actually more interesting than

00:25 the game itself. Wednesday looked a lot more organised, a lot more structured, they had

00:30 a bit more purpose to their play. Obviously the big talking point was the fact that everyone

00:34 was back, you know, the strongman, Bernard, was the only one who was at Chisco signings.

00:42 And Wednesday, they looked like a team that had played together. I think that's probably

00:46 the best way of describing it, they looked like a team that knew where each other was

00:50 meant to be, thought the back line was really good today, obviously you had Icky back in

00:54 the middle, he seemed to marshal things really nicely, Deshaun and Don were strong as well.

01:01 And really nice to see Rhys James come back. Let's talk about his performance, because

01:05 ultimately he had to come off towards the end. I think he slowed up as you'd completely

01:09 expect, he's barely kicked a ball on a football pitch for a little while. But with that manager's,

01:17 one of which was here today, took a lot of that balance in recent seasons. And how important

01:21 that is, a few years ago he was pretty, it wasn't rare at all that he'd have a left back

01:27 who was right-footed for example. I think we really saw the benefits of that today,

01:32 particularly the byline play and the touchline stuff, it really did make a big difference

01:39 having him in there. Yeah, you saw with the quality of the delivery, especially in that

01:42 first half, some really nice balls from Rhys. It was nice to see him get a good evasion

01:48 as well when he came off, because I'm sure that'll event the world to him after what

01:52 he's had, his difficulties over the last three months or whatever it is. But yeah, he looked,

01:59 I'd say in my play reads, he looked like a bit of a man on a mission, didn't he? He looked

02:03 like a player who was determined to show somebody that he deserved to be here.

02:10 Let's look at the mission men, as you describe it then, Will Vaux was all action in the middle

02:16 of midfield, another one that maybe slowed up a little bit but gave a lot of hard work

02:21 and commitment. Michael Smith won just about everything in the end.

02:25 Yeah, they were starved of real service up top, Greg isn't as much into what they do,

02:34 they ran the socks off and like I say, Smith won loads in the end, just tiled us running.

02:40 But they do, and it's something that Wayne's need to address at some point, is they really

02:44 lack a creative spot when Bannon's not there. Buckley came on and I thought he injected

02:49 some real energy into the pitch when he came on, but you look at someone like Pato and

02:55 what Pato brings is very different to what a Bannon brings. I did think Pato was great

03:01 today, I thought his work ethic, the way he was throwing himself into tackle, trying to

03:05 drive Wednesday up the pitch was good. There was plenty of positives to take from today,

03:13 it was a pretty exurgic game of football and we won't be watching any highlights of tackle

03:18 because of that, but it's a first home clean sheet this season and that is a positive.

03:26 Very quickly then, we are at the very front end now, two weeks off, not ourselves, we'll

03:31 have an awful lot to do up here, but in terms of match day involvement with the international

03:35 break, we fully expected to have a new manager in that time and we dropped a little bit in

03:42 news an hour or two before kick-off.

03:44 Yeah, Denigrul, former Bayern Munich, Southampton, Germany, just come from the German national

03:52 team, he's in talks, they're having conversations, whether that comes for anything more than

03:57 that we'll have to wait and see. I think these situations, you've got both parties trying

04:01 to sum each other up and try and size each other up and see if it's going to work. It'll

04:06 be an interesting appointment, it feels like something he's not the sort of manager you'd

04:10 think they were looking to appoint on a short-term basis, because of his age, he's younger than

04:17 De Gregorio I think. But yeah, it'll be a very interesting appointment and it would,

04:22 going for something like that, it says a lot about what the chairman is thinking rather

04:27 than going for a tried and tested firefighter like we wanted.

04:31 Sorry, that was just a moment of mourning. Yeah, there we have it, an international break

04:37 to follow, we'll have plenty thrown at you potentially and probably a managerial unveiling

05:03 business these days. But yeah, there you have it, Sheffield Wednesday nil, Huddersfield

05:08 Town nil, another point on the board, fairly uninspiring, but I think the next two weeks
