Nissan, in partnership with Formula E, has launched the ‘Feel Electric Festival’, transforming London’s Covent Garden into a racing paradise.

Fans can test their skills on several simulators or compete in a head-to-head race using only the power of their brain.

Nissan’s Formula E driver Sacha Fenestraz told The Independent that racing-specific alterations in the sport have made it a much more exciting affair for spectators, with the cars hitting speeds of up to 275kmh this season.

“The championship is growing a lot, the car is more tricky to drive, it’s lighter and quicker and we have more power. It’s a big step forward in terms of racing which is a lot more interesting.”

00:00 Hello and welcome to Covent Garden. We are here for the final two races of the season
00:20 in Formula E. We're here in the heart of London this time around. We've got two more races
00:24 to go, Saturday and Sunday, around the XL Arena in London's Docklands. Come the end
00:29 of the weekend there will be a new Team Constructors Championship winner and a new Drivers winner
00:34 as well. That could turn out to be a British driver with Jake Dennis who drives for Andretti,
00:38 currently top of the standings. He won once here last year as well, so there's a good
00:41 chance that could happen again.
00:43 It's been a good season. Of course there's been a little bit of up and down, but we had
00:50 as you say four positions twice, I still count Monaco as one. Second position in qualifying
00:56 in Portland. We've been quite strong in the qualifying side of things. Now the race side
01:01 of things has been a little bit more difficult. Of course my lack of experience in energy
01:04 management and the racing side of things that are so different to other normal combustion
01:09 racing categories. That took me a bit of time and I'm still learning on that topic. So the
01:15 race results have been a little bit of a struggle, a little bit of up and down in terms of the
01:19 championship results and the race results. But as you say it's the last race of the season,
01:24 so really looking forward to hopefully scoring some good results.
01:26 It's a little bit more tricky to drive to the Gen 2. We have more power, lighter car,
01:33 tyres that have a little bit less grip so it makes it more difficult to drive. But overall
01:38 it's a big step forward in terms of racing. We can clearly see the racing, it's a lot
01:43 more interesting than what it was at the beginning of Formula E. A lot more fights on track.
01:47 I was here as a reserve and I was like wow. I was really surprised of the event. I was
01:52 like I want to be here one day racing and here I am. Also what Nissan organised here
01:57 in central London is quite amazing and I'm really enjoying it a lot. It's all about having
02:01 a good result. My happiness will come with that. So hopefully we can have some good results
02:06 on Saturday and Sunday. And as I said earlier, finishing the season on a good note.
