00:02 - That was one thing I think in my life

00:07 which I did what my father didn't want.

00:14 And he was never happy about it.

00:18 Basically, he was just disgusted with me

00:22 and he said how I could do it.

00:28 He made it a point he never entered any of our restaurants.

00:33 And to the extent that even when I had the chairman

00:37 or the president of Yum restaurants

00:41 for a dinner at my house,

00:42 he refused to come out to meet them.

00:45 And if he by chance met them anywhere outside,

00:48 he only used to say, "Can you sell these for him

00:51 "and give the money to charity?"

00:53 So he was quite outspoken about it.

00:57 See, I believed in the business

00:59 and should I have done it or not, I don't know.

01:02 I mean, I still have a chip on my shoulder

01:05 that I went against my father.

01:08 I mean, that part I was never happy about.

01:11 Although I always believed it's a business

01:14 which can do well and I am still a vegetarian,

01:18 I don't eat meat.

01:19 So I said, you know, every restaurant is selling.

01:24 How does it really make a difference?

01:26 As long as I am not eating,

01:28 I can't stop other people from eating.

01:30 So that was my logic, which my father was not convinced.

01:34 And his logic was, is this the only way you can make money?

01:38 Why can't you make money by doing anything else?
