00:06 in the NL, and they're never gonna look back, right?

00:08 I mean, they had that little two month period

00:11 where the Diamondbacks were kinda messing around with them.

00:14 They had the lead for a little bit,

00:15 and now the Dodgers have blown by everybody.

00:18 And now it's just, they're just looking towards

00:20 the playoffs and the Braves.

00:21 That's what the Dodgers are looking at now.

00:23 - And this is crazy, 'cause this was not supposed to be

00:25 their season to do this.

00:26 They were, going back to what we just talked about,

00:30 they didn't make any moves.

00:31 Why?

00:32 'Cause they're backing up the Brink truck for Shohei Otani.

00:34 I mean, they really believe that they also have

00:36 a very good chance to sign him.

00:38 My view, but by the way, is Otani is not gonna leave

00:41 the West Coast.

00:42 He's either gonna stay where he is, go to the Dodgers,

00:45 go to the Giants, maybe Seattle.

00:47 Now, what do the Dodgers do though?

00:50 I mean, they really do have a chance with Mookie Betts

00:53 having an amazing season, Freddie Freeman

00:55 having an amazing season,

00:56 Jadie Martinez coming out of nowhere, playing well.

00:59 You're 100% right.

01:01 This team is kind of back to where they once were,

01:03 winning the division, going into the playoffs.

01:07 My view is they're not gonna win the whole thing.

01:10 But again, this, the success that they've had this year,

01:12 in my view, came out of nowhere.

01:15 Just because they did not think that this was a team

01:19 that was gonna win the division.

01:20 And my goodness, what the heck happened

01:22 to the San Diego Padres?

01:24 They thought this was their moment.

01:27 Unbelievable with the Padres,

01:30 who are still five games under, 500,

01:33 as we're about to turn the calendar to August.

01:35 I mean, they really have some decisions

01:38 that they need to make by Monday as well,

01:42 with potential guys who could walk away from them

01:44 at the end of the year, Josh Hader, Blake Snell, et cetera.

01:47 So the Padres have to figure all of that stuff out.
