Is democracy being destroyed in Maharashtra? | NCP | BJP | ShivSena | MVA| Ajit Pawar | Sharad Pawar
  • 9 months ago
There is a very uncomfortable kind of comfort in Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar, who according to Sharad Pawar, has split his party, is going and seeking blessings not once, not twice, but thrice.

Uddhav Thackeray is meeting with Ajit Pawar, who is responsible for breaking the Maharashtra Vikas Aagadi, an alliance that, on the ground, looked so strong that it made BJP nervous.

Interestingly, today there is one NCP in the government and one in the opposition.

Now you would say a similar case was with Shiv Sena, but no, it was not the same. When Shiv Sena split, occurred Uddhav Thackeray knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court. Karyakartas were agitated, and there was clarity about who had the numbers and who did not. Uddhav displayed his anger over the usage of his father's photograph on the banners.

Why does Sharad Pawar not stop Ajit Pawar's faction from using his photograph? Not even once has Sharad Pawar named his nephew and slammed him. Why has Sharad Pawar not taken any legal action against Ajit yet? , Why all the NCP MLAS are not attending the assembly session?

In short, there is one NCP, and that one NCP is at the same time part of the ruling as well as the opposition, This is purely a mockery of the Indian Democratic structure.

Now let's come to Uddhav Thackeray. Yesterday, Uddhav Thackeray did a so-called courtesy meeting with his former deputy, Ajit Pawar. And after the meeting, what did he say? ""I met Ajit Pawar and congratulated him, and I hope he will do the right work for the people."" He further said, ""I am confident that people of the state will get aid because he (Ajit Pawar) has the keys to the treasury.""

My question to Mr. Thackeray is, then why don't you join him, and once and for all, all the parties come together and work for the betterment of the state? Because this musical chair situation is only harming the democratic structure of the country.

A strong opposition is not a choice its a need for a vibrant democracy to thrive.
