Glasgow headlines 11 July: First Glasgow to cancel night bus services

First Glasgow has announced it will be withdrawing its night time services due to low passenger numbers.

The operator said it made the decision because buses were regularly running with as few as 14 passengers an hour.

This has sparked outrage across the city with a petition being shared seeking to save them.

Next, the clean up is underway at Glasgow Green as the city returns to normal life following TRNSMT.

The park seen upwards of 100,000 visitors across the weekend, where top music acts were playing including the 1975, Pulp and Sam Fender.

Organisers have already announced next year’s event which will take place on the 12 to 14 July 2024.

And finally, a new council-owned community garden has officially opened in the East End.

Greyfriars Garden sits on the High Street next to Barony Hall and is intended to permanently replace a temporary growing space.
