Birmingham Headlines: Two brothers admit planning to join terror group.

Two Birmingham brothers, Muhammad Abdul Haleem Heyder Khan and Muhammad Hamzah Heyder Khan, have pleaded guilty to planning a trip to Afghanistan to join an Islamic State faction. They appeared in court on Monday and will be sentenced in September.

The founder of a community gymnastics club in Sutton Coldfield, North Birmingham, estimates that repairs to the club building, damaged during heavy rain, could cost tens of thousands of pounds. It is hoped that insurance will cover the repair expenses.

A valuable first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, purchased for a mere 30p, has been sold at auction for a staggering £10,500. The book was one of only 500 copies produced and was acquired by a collector from Staffordshire who passed away earlier this year. The winning bid was placed online by a buyer from Los Angeles, according to Lichfield-based auctioneer Richard Winterton.
