We ask Mancunians their favourite summer holiday memories and what they would do with a six-week break

School summer holidays begin in less than a month and many families will be gearing up to plan activities and travel during the six-week break.

There will be holidays booked abroad and in the UK, as families with children use this time away from school to enjoy the warm summer months.

Of course events will be ongoing in Manchester throughout the six weeks to keep children entertained and provide much-needed respite for parents and caregivers.

For many young people the Summer holidays are an adventure and an exciting break from school life offering countless opportunities for fun.

We spoke to local people to find out their fondest memories of school summer holidays and what they would love to do now if they had the chance to take a six-week break.
