On June 12, the Aston Martin DB12 made its domestic debut with a starting price of 2.518 million yuan and was officially launched. The DB12, Geely's first new car since becoming its third largest shareholder, is also the successor to the DB11, which is officially described as the "World's First Super Tourer". According to the plan, Aston Martin will start delivering new cars in the third quarter of this year.
The overall shape of the DB12 retains the traditional temperament of Aston Martin. The iconic "convex" shaped grille has a wider opening and the lower spoiler and front bumper extending forward. It features a newly shaped head on both sides. The new car is combined with details such as the multiple ribs on the hood's hump and the eye-catching front and lower spoiler that further accentuate the sporty atmosphere.
The side lines of the car retain the outlines of the GT sports car, and the front side fender is equipped with an air vent that creates a road-ready feeling with its slightly raised waistline. The exaggerated wide body design of the rear wheel arch makes the rear of the vehicle look quite full, which not only looks good, but also makes the car body more aerodynamic.
In addition, the new car is equipped with a new exterior mirror, a new LOGO and four 21-inch lightweight wheels, which are 8 kg lighter than the standard 20-inch wheels of the DB11, as well as weighty carbon ceramic brake discs.
In the completely redeveloped 2+2 cockpit, the DB12's front seats can be accommodated by two carbon fiber lightweight sports car seats, as well as a new multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel with gearshift paddles and a high-resolution LCD. The center console is covered by a 10.25-inch center control display. In addition to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the system has a brand new mobile APP that can remotely control some of the car's functions and check the real-time status of the car.
