00:00 Hello, I'm Charles from Louis Purple and today I'm going to teach you how to tie a Windsor
00:08 knot.
00:09 The Windsor knot is actually a very simple knot to tie and it's very useful because
00:13 it projects confidence.
00:14 So it's a wide triangular knot that's very suitable for presentation, job interviews
00:21 or cultural appearances, which I hope you don't frequent too often.
00:27 So this is how you start.
00:28 You just find the right balance depending on the length of your tie with the wide end
00:33 on the right hand side and the narrow end on the left.
00:36 You might want to adjust exactly where the center of the tie should be in the middle
00:42 of your neck.
00:43 So this is how you start.
00:45 You cross over the wide end over the narrow end.
00:49 You bring the wide end through the loop between the collar and the tie and you bring the wide
00:55 end back down.
00:57 Then you just pull the wide end underneath and then bring it up through the loop again
01:07 in order to have a symmetrical shape, which should look like this.
01:18 And you're almost done.
01:20 That's only the easy part left and the most rewarding.
01:24 Pull the wide end in front, bring the wide end underneath and then slide it inside the
01:34 loop and tighten the knot.
01:39 You draw the knot up in order to fit your collar.
01:43 So it's a knot that's really suitable for widespread collars.
01:48 And as I said, then you can just adjust and tighten how big of a knot you'd like to obtain.
01:58 This is how you tie a Windsor knot.
