Newport has a rich and dynamic history, and one of the key chapters in the city’s history is of course, the chartists, with John Frost and co marching down stow hill for their right to vote. They ended at the iconic Westgate hotel, and although the original building was knocked down, the new Westgate still tells a story of the birth of democracy in the UK.
