Cancer survivor for 20 years Engr. Emer Rojas, Medical Oncologist from Singapore Dr. Joline Lim, Philippine Society of Medical Oncology (PSMO) President Dr. Rosario Pitargue, Medical Oncologist from Australia Dr. Alesha Thai, Medical Oncologist from the USA Dr. Jack West, Nina Corpuz (Host) and cancer survivor for 14 years Jojo Flores held a discussion on improving the lives of cancer patients and making cancer innovations accessible to everyone organized by MSD in the Philippines at the Shangri La Hotel Taguig on May 19, 2023.
With cancer being an increasingly pressing issue in the Philippines, with new cases emerging at an alarming rate of 400 per day and being now the third cause of death in the country, cancer groups in the country also call for solidarity against cancer and appeal to the government to increase funding and progressively implement the provisions of the National Integrated Cancer Control Act (NICCA).
