Melbourne truck driver granted bail over school bus crash

A truck driver has been granted bail on dangerous driving charges over the bus crash which seriously injured a group of primary school children in Melbourne’s west. 49-year-old Jamie Gleeson appeared in court via video link on four counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury. Some of the children have suffered multiple traumatic injuries including amputations and crushed limbs. Meanwhile the driver of the bus and several bystanders are being hailed as heroes for coming to the assistance of the injured passengers.
