Sikkim: Seven Tourists Killed In Massive Avalanche In Nathu La Border Area

Seven people were killed and several others were left injured after a massive avalanche struck in -Nathu La area in Sikkim. The incident took place on April 4 afternoon. The Army said that nearly 5-6 vehicles along with 20-30 tourists on the way to Nathu La were stuck under the snow. As reported by ANI, the avalanche struck around 11.10 am at 15th Mile in Jawaharlal Nehru road connecting Gangtok with Nathu La. Later, a search operation was called off due to the weather. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Distressed by the avalanche in Sikkim.” Watch the video to know more.
