Instead of dominating the skies over Ukraine, Russian fighter jets like the Su-34 and Su-57 are either spotted escaping the conflict or unceremoniously crashing into the ground in flames.

Why? Russian military aviators haven't yet achieved any sort of air superiority over the battlefield, but is that the only reason for it? Certainly, there are instances of Russian aircrews being so stupid they forget to cover the sensors on their aircraft before takeoff.
