People protest in Glasgow for right to strike
  • last year
Hundreds gathered in Glasgow City Centre on the first of February to protest their right to strike.

A law was passed in the House of Commons which intends to limit industrial action by requiring a minimum level of service each time workers strike.

Next up, Glasgow City Council can now place homeless people in temporary accommodation that is deemed unsuitable, after the Court of Session overturned a decision.

This means the standards for providing temporary housing are no longer equal to that of permanent placements.

And in other news, secondary school pupils in Glasgow are petitioning for the right to use the toilet during class time.

A city council spokesperson said that individual school policy is designed to meet the needs of specific school communities, and are developed in consultation with a pupil council.
