Glasgow headlines 30 January: £21m boost for recycling across city
  • last year
A teenage girl has died in hospital following a two-car collision on the M73 in North Lanarkshire.

The 42 year old man driving the other car was arrested over a road traffic offence, but was later released.

Next up, the number of GP practices in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area who are not taking on new patients has reached a record level.

Health board bosses have said a combination of staff absences, high flu and Covid levels, and an increasing number of frail patients have led to an unprecedented demand in services.

And in other news, Glasgow City Council has received over £21 million in funding from the Scottish Government to boost recycling.

This is set to go towards a new cardboard and paper kerbside collection and the renovation of Blochairn Recycling Centre which will ensure material is processed more effectively.
