Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh interacted with the Agniveers virtually. The Centre cleared the Agnipath Scheme for recruitment of youth in the Armed Forces on June 14, 2022. Under this scheme, youth between 17 and a half years and 21 years will serve the country by joining the armed forces for 4 years through a transparent process.
