"Dr. Evil" once said "It's easy to kill a movie. Just move it to January." It's not that people aren't going to movies at the start of the year; it's that films released in January have to compete with the blockbusters and Oscar-bait movies that were released at the end of the previous year. Sometimes, however, a January movie stands out.
