The UK folk group The Silkie were all Hull University students who formed the group in 1963. Early in 1965, after appearing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, they were signed by Brian Epstein. The Silkie released four singles and one album before splitting in autum 1966 when two of the original members departed. The most successful single was the Beatles' cover "You've got to hide your love away" recorded at IBC Studios in London, with the production of John Lennon, Paul McCartney playing guitar and George Harrison on tambourine. The single peaked number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album is a collection of Bob Dylan's covers plus the Beatles' "You've got to hide you love away".
