Handmade Christmas Nativity Scene Harrogate

  • last year
As a child in Italy Valeria's mum would handmake the Christmas nativity scene every year, out of card or paper mache or pottery as is tradition - every family and Town has one and its known as Il Presepe. Valeria has continued this tradition - over more than a decade it's grown huge and is now housed at St Roberts Church, Harrogate. There are hundreds of figurines, some made by the congregation, some by her sisters in Italy, some she's bought and are normal plastic but others are handmade from plaster and pottery and paper.
