Det Ch Insp Dave Whellams, who led the investigation said: “Jordan McSweeney can only really be described as as sexual predator, a loner and a man with a single determination to stalk women.

“We know that night Zara was at least the fifth woman that he pursued but there could have been more.

“The sentence that he got reflects the seriousness of the crime.

“Nothing can be done to bring Zara back but the substantial sentence shows the seriousness and the determination of the Metropolitan police to bring people like Jordan McSweeney to justice."
